Kitchen Trends for 2013

What’s in store for kitchens in 2013? According to Yahoo! Homes’ article, Must-have kitchen trends for 2013, quartz countertops will be among the top 7 trends for kitchens this year. In fact, quartz ranked as trend #2 on their list! But we aren’t surprised. Not only is quartz beautiful, but it’s durability cannot be beat! If you are thinking of remodeling your kitchen in 2013, consider quartz! And call us for a quote!

10 Hot Kitchen Counter Trends

Did you happen to read Freshome‘s article, “10 Of The Hottest Kitchen Counter-top Materials“, featured on Yahoo! today? It’s a great article with 10 different amazing “in” kitchen counters and a short scoop on the pros and cons of each. Even though neither granite nor marble made the cut (due to their already wide popularity), we were excited to see these 4 less common materials on the list: soapstone, recycled glass, slate, & quartz, all of which we install!

Beachy Chic Bathroom

Remember that awesome Bahia Blue kitchen in Redondo Beach we posted yesterday? Well here are some pics from the bathroom from the same home. We love the decorative tiles from Walker Zanger’s Contessa Collection, which we used to frame out the mirror. And an apron front sink in the bathroom?! Yes, please!!

Bahia Blue Kitchen

We think the GIANT Bahia Blue island and glass mosaic backsplash came together perfectly in this bright, beachy, kitchen we recently finished in Redondo Beach!

Inspiring Bright Tile Backsplashes

Solid surfaces are without a doubt the best choice when it comes to counters, but when it comes to backsplashes, we still love the look of tile! A tile backsplash is a great way to add a bit of personality to your kitchen. Here are a few BRIGHT tile backsplashes that are sure to inspire a kitchen remodel or two!

Redondo Beach Fire Station Gets a Makeover!

Earlier this year, Redondo Beach Fire Station #1 was one of five finalists in Ikea’s Rescue Remodel Contest, where fire stations from across the country competed to win a new kitchen from Ikea. Unfortunately, Redondo Beach was not the winner. BUT, after hearing their story, Sharefest Community Development Inc, a non-profit organization that works to bring communities together when in need, stepped in. They teamed up with Pitzer Construction Company Inc, as well as a number of other local contractors, to give this station their long desired, and much deserved, remodel. Pacifica Tile and Granite Inc. was honored to be one of the local contractors asked to be a part of this project and be given the chance to give back to the community and the firefighters who give their lives for us every day. We’d like to give a big thanks to Cambria for donating the quartz surfaces used in Station #1’s new kitchen, as well as to all of the other companies and volunteers who helped to make this project possible. Take a look at the amazing transformation!

Twitter Co-founder Jack Dorsey’s New $9 Million Pad

This week news broke that Twitter Co-founder, Jack Dorsey, recently purchased a 3700 square foot, 2 bedroom, home in the Seacliff neighborhood of San Francisco, for a cool $9 million. Aside from the home’s amazing views of the San Francisco Bay, we’re loving the pad’s ultra modern kitchen. It boasts Brazilian blood-wood cabinets and Volga-blue granite counters, creating a sophisticated, yet sleek look.
